THANK YOU!
Another exciting and emotional SickKids Radiothon came to a close last night at 6 p.m. Hundreds of people from across the GTA reached into their pockets and gave generously in support of The Hospital for Sick Children.
After every last penny was counted, we raised $2,343,407!
On behalf of all of us at SickKids Foundation and The Hospital for Sick Children, thank you!
Current and past patients shared their inspirational stories during the 12-hour broadcast on Astral Media’s Toronto radio stations, Newstalk 1010, boom 97.3 and 999 Virgin Radio.
The 24th Annual SickKids Radiothon was part of Astral Media’s National Day of Caring for Kids. More than 50 of Astral Media’s English-language stations in 30 cities across Canada raised over $7 million in support of 20 children’s hospitals and health-care facilities across the country.
You can find photos from the day on our Flickr account. We also posted three videos to YouTube.
It has been an incredible 11.5 hours and we only have 30 minutes to go. All three Astral radio stations, Newstalk 1010, 999 Virgin Radio and boom 97.3, are doing one final push to try and sign up Miracle Club memberships.
There is lots of cheering but the phones could be ringing more. If you haven’t donated yet today, now is your chance. Pick up the phone and call 1-877-791-5437 or make an online donation at http://www.sickkidsradiothon.com.
One half hour can make a world of difference.
We are partway through a Power Hour on 999 Virgin Radio and boom 97.3, sponsored by Burger King.
Burger King has been a passionate supporter of SickKids for more than 10 years. Each fall, Burger King sells Toonie Bears in its restaurants across Canada to raise money for children’s hospitals, including SickKids.
Both Burger King customers and employees are extremely committed to SickKids and to the Toonie Bear campaign, which has led to tremendous growth in this program. This year’s campaign alone raised more than $275,000.
We are proud to be a part of the SickKids Radiothon.
