What does it mean to give? That question triggered the theme for this year’s 2009-2010 SickKids Foundation annual report.

We looked at some of the words that describe the word “give” (provide with, offer, award, grant, support, donate, contribute, bestow, commit, devote, dedicate) and realized that these are all actions our donors take to make an impact at The Hospital for Sick Children.

When you give to SickKids Foundation, you become an integral part of the SickKids Family and a partner in creating a healthier future for children. Funds directed to The Hospital support groundbreaking research, medical learning and compassionate patient care. Gifts to SickKids truly make a difference.

Despite the challenges of the economy, our community of supporters really came through this year. The Foundation made a $52.5 million investment in children’s health, including $47.9 million to the Hospital and an investment of $4.6 million to national, international and other initiatives.
