Watch the inspirational stories of five brave patients and their families at SickKids as they face childhood illness in the special CTV broadcast of SickKids: Believing in Heroes. Tune in on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at 7 p.m. for this two-hour, behind-the-scenes experience of The Hospital for Sick Children.

You will meet children like Sarah, who, after years of treatment at SickKids, recently passed away from a brain tumour in March at the age of 8.

At four years old, doctors discovered a tumour the size of an orange in Sarah’s brain. She was immediately transferred to SickKids and diagnosed with a rare malignant tumour. Sarah had a number of surgeries at SickKids, one of which she was not expected to survive. She spent the next four years in and out of SickKids getting treatment.

Sarah’s father Russell and sister Jillian recently participated in the SickKids Radiothon, part of Astral Media’s National Day of Caring for Kids. Listen to a montage from their interview below and tune in on June 4 to CTV to watch their story.
