A sea of blue gathered on the front lawn of The Hospital for Sick Children last night as close to two-hundred RBC employees in blue t-shirts ended their annual walk from the Royal Bank Plaza on Bay Street to SickKids.
The 24th RBC Walk-a-thon marks the end of a six-week employee fundraising campaign to raise funds for paediatric mental health training, research and outreach at SickKids. During the campaign, fundraising activities ranged from chocolate and stuffed animal sales, to employee payroll deduction, a tricycle race and much more. This year’s walk raised more than $320,000, bringing the total amount raised since 1988 to more than $3.2 million.
