For her 11th birthday, Ashley didn’t want presents. She wished for a new heart.

Two years ago Ashley was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy. This is a condition that affects the heart muscle making it difficult for it to pump effectively.  She was airlifted to SickKids and was added to the heart transplant list.

On her 11th birthday, a heart became available and Ashley underwent lifesaving surgery.
