Grammy-nominated recording artist Drake recently announced details and dates for his 2010 North American tour, Lights Dreams & Nightmares, which included naming SickKids Foundation as the charitable partner.
Drake, who grew up in Toronto, ON, will donate a portion of proceeds from every ticket sold on his 2010 tour to support The Friends of Music Therapy Endowment Fund at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids).
The Music Therapy Program at SickKids provides music therapy to the Hospital’s cancer and organ-transplant patients as well as those in palliative care. Music therapists work with patients to help reduce anxiety, ease pain, increase mobility, cope with illness and promote the expression of feelings through music. The therapy helps to enhance a patient’s overall physical, emotional and spiritual well-being.
Drake’s Lights Dreams & Nightmares tour will make stops at theatres throughout North America this fall, kicking off with two sold-out shows in Miami. For up-to-date, confirmed album announcements and live concert appearances, please visit Drake’s blog October’s Very Own and the official MySpace page for Drake.
