SickKids Foundation celebrates Family Day by launching Believe in Change

Toronto, ON, February 18, 2007 - In honour of the hundreds of families spending the newest provincial holiday at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), Canadian Idol judge, Farley Flex and his family stopped by the Toronto Eaton Centre today to help SickKids Foundation celebrate Family Day and officially launch their new Believe in Change campaign. For the next six weeks, SickKids Foundation is challenging the community to support these families and SickKids by breaking out their loose change for the cause.
From February 18 to March 28 anyone can get involved.
It’s as easy as:
- Signing up to become an official Change Crusader by visiting www.changecrusaders.com;
- Encouraging family and friends, classmates and co-workers to organize a Change Crusader campaign;
- Building your own fundraising page online at www.changecrusaders.com; add photos; email it to friends; if you can’t get a coin jar to friends or family who are out of town or live far away, ask them to donate on your web page;
- Or simply make a donation online at www.changecrusaders.com or at Cadillac Fairview malls
“Believe in Change is really a way to inspire individuals and organizations to come together and believe that their donations can make a difference and help change the lives of children,” said Sandra Palmaro, Vice-President of SickKids Foundation.
“Schools, businesses and families can get involved by raising much-needed funds in support of more than 100,000 children who rely on the life-saving care SickKids provides them each year.”
Astral Media, Cadillac Fairview and Bell Canada are among the Foundation’s valued partners who are showing their support throughout the Believe in Change campaign. The Bell Believe Booth will be set up in Cadillac Fairview malls across the GTA over the next six weeks to allow everyone to sign-up to become a Change Crusader, drop off their collected donations or simply make a one-time donation.

Sherway Gardens - March 17, 18, 19, 20, 22, 26, 27, 28
Believe in Change will culminate March 26, 27 or 28th during the Annual SickKids Radiothon on Astral Media radio stations Newstalk 1010 CFRB, 97.3 EZ Rock and 99.9 MIX FM. Listeners can also stop by SickKids through the broadcast and drop off their collected change.
