The Slaight Family Atrium at SickKids
After 22 years of support for the Annual SickKids Radiothon, with more than $25 million raised, the hospital is honouring Gary Slaight and the Slaight family by renaming the Atrium at SickKids The Slaight Family Atrium. The announcement was made today, March 28, during the Radiothon by Michael O'Mahoney, President, SickKids Foundation, and Mary-Jo Haddad, President and CEO, The Hospital for Sick Children.
Gary Slaight and the Slaight family have been integral partners to The Hospital for Sick Children and SickKids Foundation for more than three decades. Through their own personal philanthropy and that of their family-owned radio stations, Standard Radio, they have contributed to the hospital's highest priority needs. This includes medical research, the Medical Information Centre (Health Hotline), Pediatric Outcomes Research (PORT) and the Cardiac Diagnostic Imaging Centre, to name a few.
"Gary's vision and insight for a SickKids Radiothon has inspired 22 years of courageous stories, touching the lives of millions of Torontonians over the year," said O'Mahoney.
