John Francis

John Francis

John Francis - Chair

John Francis joined the Board of Directors at The Hospital for Sick Children Foundation in November 2003. He concurrently serves on the Board of the Hospital for Sick Children.

Mr. Francis is founder and Managing Director of Fraser Kearney Capital Corp. and most recently was President & CEO of Trader Media Corporation, Ontario’s largest publisher of classified advertising magazines and websites. Previously he worked in New York and Los Angeles in investment banking for various firms, specializing in mergers and acquisitions. John has an HBA from the Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario.

Bob Aziz

Bob Aziz joined the Board of Directors at SickKids Foundation in May 2004.

Mr. Aziz is Executive Vice-President and Chief Legal Officer of Oxford Properties Group, a global real estate platform that participates in the market as an investor, owner, asset manager, developer and real estate manager. Prior to joining Oxford Properties, Mr. Aziz was President of Great Gulf Homes. Previously, he held the position of Senior Vice-President & Assistant General Counsel, TD Bank Financial Group. In that role, Mr. Aziz was responsible for day-to-day operations of TD Bank Financial Group’s Legal Department and a member of the TD Bank Financial Group’s Privacy Council, Communication Strategy Committee and Regulatory Affairs Committee.

Mr. Aziz served on the Board of Directors of the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital Charitable Corporation from 1995 to 2003 and as Chairman from 2001 to 2003. He is also actively involved as a coach in minor hockey in Oakville and Toronto.

Sonia Baxendale joined the Board of Directors at SickKids Foundation in June 2007 and is currently one of three Vice Chairs of the Board of Directors.

Ms. Baxendale was most recently the Senior Executive Vice-President, CIBC and President, CIBC Retail Markets. She led the Retail and Wealth Management businesses from 2005 to 2011.

From 1992 to 2011 Ms. Baxendale played a key role in developing strategy and direction for CIBC and has held various leadership roles including Senior Executive Vice-President, CIBC Wealth Management, Executive Vice-President, Asset Management, Card Products and Collections, and Executive Vice-President of Global Private Banking & Investment Management Services. Prior to this, she was Managing Director, CIBC Wood Gundy.

Prior to joining CIBC, Ms. Baxendale held various positions with American Express Canada and Saatchi & Saatchi. She has been named one of the "Top 100 Most Powerful Women in Canada" for the past three years and in 2000 was recognized as one of Canada's Top 40 Under 40. Ms. Baxendale is a graduate of the University of Toronto.

Jalynn Bennett joined the Board of Directors at SickKids Foundation in May 2004. She has also served as a Trustee on the Board for the Hospital for Sick Children.

Ms. Bennett is President of Jalynn H. Bennett and Associates Ltd., a consulting firm in strategic planning and organizational development in both the public and private sectors. She holds a degree, specializing in economics, from the University of Toronto. She is currently a member of the Lawrence National Centre for Policy and Management Advisory Council, Richard Ivey School of Business; a member of the National Advisory Board of Canada’s Outstanding CEO of the Year; and a member of the Canada Millennium Scholarship Foundation. She is a Director of The Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, The Cadillac Fairview Corporation Limited, Teck Cominco Limited, Nortel Networks Corporation and Nortel Networks Limited. In addition to her work with SickKids Foundation and her previous role as Trustee at the Hospital, Ms. Bennett has served on a number of Boards in the not-for-profit sector. She is the past Chair and an honorary member of the Board of Governors of Trent University. Mrs. Bennett was a member of the Toronto Stock Exchange, Canadian Stock Exchange and the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants’ Joint Committee on Corporate Governance (The Saucier Committee).

Ms. Bennett has been a recipient of a YWCA of Metro Toronto, Women of Distinction Award in Public Affairs and Communications, and a McGill University Management Achievement Award. She was made a Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Directors in 1999 and a Member of the Order of Canada in 2000. She holds an honourary degree, Doctor of Sacred Letters (honoris causa) from Trinity College, University of Toronto.

Rita Ciccolini joined the Board of Directors at SickKids Foundation in June 2011.

Ms. Ciccolini is a partner at Masters Insurance Ltd.; a family owned and operated business since 1966. Ms. Ciccolini graduated from York University in 1984 with a Bachelor of Arts. Some of her charitable work includes committee member of the Cuisine and Cuvee event for the Providence Healthcare Foundation and the Knights of Columbus Christmas is for Kids event. She is a past York Region Catholic School Board Trustee. As a former patient of the cardiac unit, SickKids holds a special place in Ms. Ciccolini’s heart. She currently resides in Pottageville with her family while enjoying the outdoors, gardening, baking and raising a teenage son!

Kevin Crull joined the Board of Directors at SickKids Foundation in June 2011.

Mr. Crull is President of Bell Media. Prior to Bell Media, he served as President of Bell Residential Services, the national business unit for Bell TV, Bell Internet and Bell Home Phone. Mr. Crull also serves on the Board of The Globe and Mail.

Freddy De Gasperis Jr.

Freddy De Gasperis Jr. joined the Board of Directors at SickKids Foundation in May 2004.

Mr. De Gasperis Jr. is one of the original founders of Aspen Ridge Homes Ltd., a division of the Con Drain Team of Companies. In its first year, Aspen Ridge Homes Ltd. started with 4 employees, one project, and 100 homes. Today, they are one of the top five builders in the GTA. Over the years, the De Gasperis family has had a long history of involvement with such charities as United Way, York Central Hospital, Toronto General Hospital, and Markham Stouffville Hospital and Community Safety Village of York Region. Mr. De Gasperis Jr. has been instrumental in spear heading the Foundation's SickKids Leaders initiative, a volunteer peer-to-peer giving program that garners the leadership and support of business professionals in Ontario.

Claire Duboc joined the Board of Directors at SickKids Foundation in June 2003.

Ms. Duboc received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Wilfred Laurier University in 1984, and a Master of Business Administration from the Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario in 1997. She has held various management roles in companies including Procter & Gamble and Catalina Marketing and Loyalty Management Group as well as working as an independent consultant.

In addition to her work on the Board of Directors at SickKids Foundation, Ms. Duboc serves on the Board of Governors for Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario. Her other volunteer affiliations include Pathways to Education Canada and Operation Herbie at SickKids Hospital. Ms. Duboc is married and has four children.

Charles Field-Marsham joined the Board of Directors at SickKids Foundation in June 2011.

Mr. Field-Marsham is the founder and Chairman of Kestrel Capital (East Africa), Kenya’s leading investment bank, and the founder and Chairman of Panafrican Group, a distributor for Komatsu mining and construction equipment in six African countries. He is the Chairman of Kenya Fluorspar, a mining operation in Kenya. Mr. Field-Marsham is also a founding member of the steering committee for the University of Toronto’s ‘The Next 36’ entrepreneurship program.

David Goodman

David Goodman joined the Board of Directors at SickKids Foundation in June 2011.

David Goodman is Chairman, President and CEO of GCIC Ltd. (formerly Goodman & Company Investment Counsel), which is a division of the Bank of Nova Scotia representing over $100 billion of assets under management.

David left an early career as a litigator in 1994 to become a Partner, Vice President and portfolio manager at the investment management firm behind Dynamic Funds. He became President and Chief Executive Officer of Dynamic Funds in 2001 and of DundeeWealth, Dynamic's public company parent, in 2007. Under David's leadership the firm has become one of Canada’s best performing and fastest growing investment managers, been recognized as Fund Company of the Year a record 7 times at the Canadian Investment Awards, and received more Lipper Awards than any other firm in Canada, while growing assets under management from $5 billion to approximately $50 billion.

Scotiabank's acquisition of DundeeWealth in 2011 brought David to the Bank to lead the Dynamic fund family and Scotia Asset Management in a new role as the head of Global Asset Management.

Born in Montreal, Mr. Goodman received a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University in 1985 and a Bachelor of Law (Cum Laude) from the University of Ottawa in 1988, where he now serves on the President’s Council. His Chartered Financial Analyst designation was conferred by the University of Virginia in 1996.

Together with his wife Bonnie, Mr. Goodman has four children: Sarah, Ellie, Eden and a son, Anthony. He is a member of the Board of Dundee Corporation and the Sick Kids Foundation and a trustee of Dundee REIT. Mr. Goodman is also a stand-up comedian affiliated with Yuk Yuks Comedy Clubs. David's passion for performing stand-up comedy extends into his philanthropic activities. Mr. Goodman is the founder of the David Goodman Youth Community Trust which runs an annual comedic fundraising event called Humour Me and has to date raised over $1 million in support of youth at risk.

Mary Jo Haddad joined the Board of SickKids Foundation in June 2009.

Ms. Haddad was appointed President and CEO of The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) in November, 2004 after serving as Interim President and CEO. SickKids is Canada’s most research intensive hospital and the largest centre dedicated to improving children’s health in the country. Ms. Haddad held several leadership positions at SickKids prior to her appointment as President and CEO. These included Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer, Chief Nurse Executive, Vice-President Child Health Services, and Director of Neonatology and Critical Care. She began her career at SickKids in 1984 as an assistant manager in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of SickKids, following 10 years as a neonatal nurse at Children’s Hospital of Michigan.

Ms. Haddad holds a number of Board appointments and Chair roles including:
Chair, MaRS Innovation; Chair, Council of Academic Hospitals of Ontario (CAHO); Chair, Provincial Council for Maternal Child Health; Director, Toronto Region Research Alliance (TRRA); Member and Past Chair, Toronto Academic Health Sciences Network (TAHSN); Member, Canadian Association of Paediatric Health Centres (CAPHC).

She also lectures at the University of Toronto, Department of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation, and at the U of T Rotman School of Business.

Ms. Haddad holds an honorary Doctor of Laws degree from the University of Windsor and is a recipient of the Premier’s Award for Outstanding Achievement by College Alumni in the Province. Her academic qualifications include a MHSc from the University of Toronto in Health Administration, a BScN from the University of Windsor, and a Diploma in Nursing from St. Clair College, Windsor. She received Women’s Executive Network’s Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Award for two consecutive years, 2007 and 2008. And she was awarded the Canadian Nurses Association “Nurse to Know” Centennial Achievement Award in 2008 by Canada’s Prime Minister. Ms. Haddad is an active community supporter, and has served as a volunteer for The Darling Home for Kids and, for a two-year term, was a member of the Cabinet for United Way of Greater Toronto as the leader of the Health Care Division. She is also a proud supporter of Children’s Circle of Care, SickKids Foundation. Ms. Haddad lives in Oakville with her husband Jim Forster and their three children Stephen, Nicole and Jonathan.

Tim Hockey joined the Board of Directors at SickKids Foundation in September 2007.

As President and CEO, TD Canada Trust, Mr. Hockey’s primary responsibility is the leadership of TD’s Business Bank and Personal Bank, which offer a broad array of financial services and products to TD Canada Trust’s 10 million customers through more than 1,000 branches, a vast network of ATMs, EasyWeb, and EasyLine telephone banking. Mr. Hockey is also a member of TD Bank Financial Group’s senior executive team.

Over a 25 year career with TD, Mr. Hockey has held senior positions in a variety of areas including mutual funds, retail delivery, information technology, core banking and small business, Visa and personal lending.

A recipient of Canada’s “Top 40 Under 40” Award, Mr. Hockey obtained an MBA from the University of Western Ontario in 1997, and now sits on the Advisory Board of the Richard Ivey School of Business.

Mr. Hockey served as Chair of the Canadian Bankers Association from June 2007 – 2008 and continues to serve as an Executive Member. He was named to the board of directors of SickKids Foundation, the largest non-governmental granting agency in child health in Canada. He has also served on the boards of VFC, OBSI (The Ombudsman for Banking Services and Investments), and TD Bank USA.

Mr. Hockey and his wife reside in Mississauga, Ontario. They have two teenaged sons.

 
Robin Humphreys

Robin P. Humphreys, MD

Dr. Robin Humphreys joined the Board of Directors at SickKids Foundation in June 2003.

Dr. Humphreys is a medical graduate from the University of Toronto where he also completed his postgraduate training in neurosurgery. He is a Fellow, Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Pediatrics. He is an Emeritus Professor, at the University of Toronto where he continues to teach, and has been invited to lecture in the United States, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. He is past president of the American Society of Pediatric Neurosurgery, and the International Society for Pediatric Neurosurgery. In 2007 he received the Franc D. Ingraham Distinguished Service Award from the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons.

Dr. Humphreys was appointed to the Department of Surgery at The Hospital for Sick Children in 1971, at which time he collaborated in the development of Canada's first craniofacial program. During his 33 years at SickKids where he is now a honourary consultant, he has served as the hospital's associate surgeon-in-chief and, neurosurgeon-in-chief and was the inaugural recipient of the Harold J. Hoffman/Shoppers Drug Mart Chair in Paediatric Neurosurgery. He is a past member of the hospital's Medical Advisory Committee and Board of Trustees. In 2003, he received the Claus Wirsig Humanitarian Award from SickKids Foundation. Currently he serves as Chair of the Foundation’s Grants Advisory Committee.

Dr. Humphreys is married and has two children and five grandchildren.

Golnar Khosrowshahi joined the Board of Directors of SickKids Foundation in November 2006.

Ms. Khosrowshahi is a Managing Director at DRI Capital, a pharmaceutical royalty investment firm based in Toronto. She is also a trustee of Pearson College, one of the United World Colleges located in British Columbia, and a trustee of the Enyclopaedia Iranica Foundation at the Columbia University Centre for Iranian Studies in New York. Prior to relocating to Toronto, Ms. Khosrowshahi spent 10 years in New York City where she was, most recently, head of account services and business development at Imagination NYC, an experiential design firm headquartered in the United Kingdom. Ms. Khosrowshahi began her career in advertising at Euro RSCG Worldwide.

She has a BA from Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania and an MBA from Columbia University in New York. She is married with two young children.

Christian Lassonde joined the Board of Directors at SickKids Foundation in June 2011.

Mr. Lassonde is President and CEO of Claystone Inc., a Toronto-based technology start-up company which develops multimedia applications for Android phones and tablets. Mr. Lassonde is also a Director, Secretary and Treasurer of the Lassonde Family Foundation.

Lori Latchman

Lori Latchman joined the Board of Directors at SickKids Foundation in June 2008.

Ms. Latchman has a strong background in philanthropy, a passion for improving the lives of children, and a firm belief in advancing fiscal responsibility. She has a history of working with not-for-profits, and describes herself as “philanthropic by nature.” She worked as VP of Fundraising and Director of the Starlight Foundation, as well as Director of Education for UNICEF Canada. This latter position was a particularly good fit as Lori holds a specialist degree in Special Education, and spent many years teaching children and adults.

Ms. Latchman has supported Baycrest’s Health and Science Center for Aging, Young People’s Theatre and Mount Sinai Hospital. More recently, she has played a pivotal role in garnering support for SickKids – spearheading the new Tie Domi Rehab Clinic, and working with SCRUBS in the City.

Ms. Latchman has two children.

Fraser D. Latta

Fraser D. Latta joined the Board of Directors of SickKids Foundation in May 2004.

Mr. Latta is a private investor and is the director of several private companies. Between 1989 and 2001, Mr. Latta was Vice Chairman and Chief Operating Officer of Cott Corporation, the world’s largest supplier of store brand beverages and the fourth largest soft drink company in the world. He is a Director on Menu Foods Genpar Limited, the operating company of Menu Foods Income Fund.

Mr. Latta is past Chair of the Board of Governors of Havergal College. He is a graduate of the Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario.

 
Tom Long

Tom Long - Vice Chair

Tom Long joined the Board of Directors of SickKids Foundation in June 2003 and is currently one of three Vice Chairs of the Board of Directors.

Mr. Long is currently a partner with Russell Reynolds Associates, the most trusted name in global executive search and assessment. Prior to joining Russell Reynolds Associates, Mr. Long led the establishment of a Toronto practice of Egon Zehnder International (EZI). He was a partner at EZI from 1990-2000 and 2003-2008. Between 2000 and 2003, Mr. Long was a partner with the global strategy firm Monitor Company. Previously, Mr. Long was an associate at two law firms and held an executive position with Dom Group Limited, one of Canada's major retailers.

Mr. Long earned a law degree from the University of Western Ontario and was called to the bar in 1984. Since the age of 19, Mr. Long has been known for his extensive political involvement and as a political organizer and strategist, has been very active in provincial, national and international politics.

Frank Luk joined the Board of Directors of SickKids Foundation in January 2007.

Mr. Luk is the President of Supercom Canada Ltd. He received his Masters of Professional Accounting at the University of Texas and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, a director and past president of the Canada Chinese Computer Association and served for 4 years as a director of the Chinese Business Association.

Mr. Luk has extensive philanthropic interests in and around the GTA with such organizations as the United Way, Toronto Hong Kong Lions Club, Scouts Canada Foundation, Kidney Foundation, and the Yee Hong Community Wellness Foundation. He was the co-chair of the United Way Blossom Ball in 2005 and 2006.

Janice O'Born

Janice O’Born joined the Board of Directors of SickKids Foundation in June 2003.

Ms. O’Born is Chairman of The Printing House (TPH) Charitable Office and owner of the Yorkville-based AxiSpa. Having founded The Charitable Office in 1983, Ms. O’Born’s vision was to promote philanthropy to the staff of TPH and effectively manage the numerous charitable requests the company receives each year.

Ms. O’Born has chaired many special events and has sat on the Board of Directors of numerous charities in the past. Most recently Ms. O’Born served as the 2009 Brazilian Carnival Ball Chair which benefited SickKids Foundation. In recognition of her volunteer service Ms. O’Born has received many awards including the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service. Aside from her commitments to the SickKids Foundation Board, she currently devotes her time to the Board of CANFAR (Canadian Foundation for AIDS Research).

Born and raised in England, Ms. O’Born lived in Australia for several years before immigrating to Vancouver in 1978 and then Toronto in 1983. Ms. O’Born and her husband Earle have two children.

Gail O’Brien joined the Board of Directors of SickKids Foundation in June 2009. Ms. O'Brien was appointed as a Trustee for The Hospital for Sick Children in 2004 and will continue to serve concurrently on both Boards.

Ms. O’Brien was formerly the owner of a specialty women’s boutique and General Manager of Calgary’s Holt Renfrew.

Ms. O’Brien is active in Calgary and in Toronto, and holds positions with a variety of not-for-profit organizations in Canada and abroad. Ms. O’Brien is Chair of the Dean’s Advisory Board for the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Calgary, Chair of the Southern Alberta Cancer Institute, Chair of the National Arts Centre Foundation in Ottawa, Vice-Chair of the Glenbow Museum in Calgary and a former Director of the YWCA of Calgary.

Ms. O’Brien serves on the Board of Trustees of the Ontario Science Centre and as a member of the Council for Canadian and American Relations. Ms. O’Brien’s support for international causes includes the Centre for Affordable Water and Sanitation Technology which provides training, consulting and expertise in water and sanitation for the poor in developing countries, and the Clean Water initiative in Zambia.

Ms. O’Brien graduated with a BA in English and Fine Arts from McGill University and was a 2000 Recipient of the Calgary YWCA Women of Distinction Award for Business and Entrepreneurs. Most recently, Ms. O’Brien was the Honourary Chair of the 2009 Brazilian Ball benefiting the SickKids Research Institute.

Justin Poy joined the Board of Directors of SickKids Foundation in June 2011.

Mr. Poy is the founder and President of the Justin Poy Agency, a national full-service agency based in Toronto specializing in English and multicultural marketing and advertising.


A former kidney transplant patient at SickKids and a strong advocate of organ and tissue donation, Mr. Poy has served on the Board of Directors of the Trillium Gift of Life Network, the Kidney Foundation of Canada and the Kidney Foundation's National Organ Donation Committee. He is also very active in the Chinese Canadian community, serving as Vice-Chair of The Canadian Foundation for Chinese Heritage Preservation and as Chair of the Toronto International Film Festival's Chinese Advisory Council where he spearheaded a project naming the Chinese Community Box in Theatre One of Bell Lightbox. Mr. Poy is currently a Director of the Ontario Media Development Corporation, an Advisory Board Member of the Richard Charles Lee Canada Hong Kong Library at U of T and Lights, Camera, Access.

Mr. Poy is the recipient of the University of Toronto's Arbor Award for outstanding volunteer leadership, the Canadian Youth Business Foundation's inaugural Entrepreneurship Champion Award, the Queen's Golden Jubilee Medal and has received numerous creative Awards in Canada and U.S.

Aaron W. Regent joined the Board of Directors of SickKids Foundation in June 2003.

Mr. Regent was appointed President and CEO of Barrick Gold, Canada’s largest mining company and the world’s biggest gold producer, in December 2008. He was previously Managing Partner of Brookfield Asset Management and recent past President of Falconbridge Ltd.

Prior to joining Brookfield, he was Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer of Noranda Inc. (2000-2002), President and Chief Executive Officer of Trilon Securities Corporation (1996-2000) and Senior Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer of Brascan Corporation (1992-1996), now known as Brookfield Asset Management Inc.

Mr. Regent is the Chairman of the Nickel Development Institute and a member of the Board of Directors of Koniambo Nickel SAS, the C.D. Howe Institute and the National Ballet of Canada.

Edward Rogers joined the Board of Directors at SickKids Foundation in June 2008.

Edward Rogers was appointed Deputy Chairman of Rogers Communications on September 15, 2009. In this capacity, Mr. Rogers oversees major strategic initiatives including long term strategic planning, balance sheet strategies, strategic relationships, mergers and acquisitions and all new business development, including Rogers Business Solutions.

From January 2003 to September 2009, Mr. Rogers was President & Chief Executive Officer for Rogers Cable Inc., which consists of three business units. Rogers Cable is Canada's largest cable television provider offering cable television, high-speed Internet access and residential telephony services. Its Rogers Business Solutions division is a national provider of voice communications services, data networking and broadband Internet connectivity to small, medium and large businesses across the country. Rogers Retail is one of the largest retail chains in Canada with almost 475 stores. In 2009 the Company generated over $3.8 billion in revenue, over $1.3 billion in EBITDA, and had over 14,000 employees.

After graduating from the University of Western Ontario, Mr. Rogers spent 2 1/2 years with Comcast Corporation, a U.S. cable and cellular company, out of Philadelphia, U.S.A. His U.S. experience covered sales, marketing, new product development and strategic planning.

Mr. Rogers is on the Board of Directors for Rogers Communications inc., CableLabs, The Canadian Sigma Chi Foundation, SickKids Foundation, The Fashion for Passion Foundation and The OnexOne Foundation. Edward and his wife Suzanne are honorary founders of OnexOne, a global charitable organization which assists in improving the lives of children in Canada and around the world.

Edward and his wife Suzanne have three children: Chloé, Edward and Jack. They live in Toronto.

Irwin Rotenberg is President of Lissom Investment Management Inc., a private investment counselor that manages the Owners Family of Funds. For nearly 30 years, he has been actively engaged in the investment industry with extensive experience in equity research and strategy, and money management.

Mr. Rotenberg holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto and a Chartered Financial Analyst designation. He is a member of the Toronto Society of Financial Analysts and the Association for Investment Management and Research. Mr. Rotenberg serves on both the Foundation Investment Committee and Ethics Committee.

Reza Satchu joined the Board of Directors of SickKids Foundation in January 2006.

Mr. Satchu is Chairman and CEO of Alignvest Capital Management, a private investment company based in Toronto and New York. Mr. Satchu has co-founded, built and managed several successful operating businesses, all from inception, including: SupplierMarket, a supply chain software company funded by Sequoia and KKR, that grew to 225 people with several Fortune 500 customers, prior to being sold to Ariba in 2000; StorageNow Holdings, which became Canada's second largest self-storage company before being sold to InStorage REIT in 2007; KGS-Alpha Capital Markets, a US fixed income broker dealer focused on the US mortgage market with over $150 million of equity capital; and, most recently, Greyson Capital Management, a low net exposure equity hedge fund focused on investing in China, Japan, and Korea.

Previously, Mr. Satchu spent 13 years in New York where he was a General Partner and Managing Director at Fenway Partners, a $1.5 billion private equity firm, and a Financial Analyst at Merrill Lynch. Mr. Satchu has received Canada's Top 40 Under 40 Award (2007) and the Management Achievement Award from McGill University (2011). He is a member of the Canadian Advisory Board to the Harvard Business School and the Young Presidents' Organization. Mr. Satchu is also a Professor at the University of Toronto and the Founder and Chairman of The Next 36, an intensive entrepreneurship program for Canada's most promising undergraduate students. He has a BA from McGill University and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.

Andrew J. Sheiner joined the Board of Directors of SickKids Foundation in June 2001.

Mr. Sheiner is Managing Director of Onex Corporation and a Director of several Onex subsidiaries. Mr. Sheiner, a graduate of McGill University and Harvard University, worked previously for a private real estate company and for McKinsey & Company. Mr. Sheiner plays an active role with SickKids Foundation as co-chair of SickKids Leaders, a program founded in 2002 and focused on expanding SickKids’ reach with leaders in the community.

Robert Harding joined the Board of Directors of SickKids Foundation in June 2011 when he was elected Chair of the Board of Trustees of The Hospital for Sick Children.

Mr. Harding is Chairman of Brookfield Asset Management Inc.’s Global Infrastructure Advisory Board and has served Brookfield and its predecessor companies since 1984 in various executive positions. He is currently Chair of the Board of Governors at the University of Waterloo, Trustee at the Art Gallery of Ontario, past Chair and current Board member of United Way Toronto, Director and Chairman of Norbord Inc., Director and Chair of NexJ Systems Inc. and a Director of Manulife Financial Corporation. He holds a Bachelor of Mathematics and an honorary doctorate from the University of Waterloo. In 2002, he was awarded the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal for his community service. He was elected a Fellow Chartered Accountant in March 2000 and named as one of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40 in 1996.

Kathleen (Katie) Taylor joined the Board of Directors of SickKids Foundation in May 2004 and is currently one of three Vice Chairs of the Board of Directors.

Kathleen (Katie) Taylor is President and Chief Executive Officer of Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company's global operations.

Since joining Four Seasons in 1989, Katie has played a key role in its continued growth and success. The company's portfolio includes 84 hotels and resorts in 34 countries and there are currently more than 50 projects in some stage of planning or development.

Prior to assuming the role of Chief Executive Officer in August 2010, Katie was Chief Operating Officer. She also served as President of Worldwide Business Operations for seven years, overseeing all aspects of the business, including worldwide hotel and residential product design, construction and development activities, managing the company's acquisition and corporate planning, overseeing corporate finance and legal affairs, human resources and administration.

Katie has received numerous accolades for her business achievements. In 2001 she received the Schulich Award for Outstanding Executive Leadership and was recognized with a Chairman's Award from the Industry Real Estate Financing Advisory Council (IREFAC) of the American Hotel and Lodging Association in 2003. Katie also received the Award for Business Achievement from the Canadian General Counsel in 2006 and was inducted to the Marketing Hall of Legends in 2009. Last year, Katie accepted the Hennick Centre for Business and Law Medal for Career Achievement and was recently honoured with the International Society of Hospitality Consultants Pioneer Award. In spring 2011, Katie will receive the Chairman's Gold Award from the Ontario Hostelry Institute.

A member of IREFAC, Katie is also a Director of the Royal Bank of Canada, Chair of its Human Resources Committee and a member of its Audit Committee. In addition to being a board member for the Hospital for Sick Children Foundation in Toronto, Katie is Chair of its Compensation and Resource Management Committee and a member of its Research and Learning Tower Capital Campaign Cabinet. Katie is also an avid supporter of United Way Toronto and an active volunteer.

Erol Uzumeri joined the Board of Directors at SickKids Foundation in June 2008.

Mr. Uzumeri is currently forming a new private equity firm. Prior to starting his firm, Mr. Uzumeri was Head of Private Equity for the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan. Prior to joining Teachers', Mr. Uzumeri was Vice President of CVC International in London, England, where he evaluated, structured, and executed a number of private equity investments in Europe and the emerging markets. He holds a B.A.Sc. (Industrial Engineering) from the University of Toronto, an M.Sc. (Finance) from the London Business School, and is a graduate of the Institute of Corporate Directors.

Mr. V. Prem Watsa joined the Board of Directors at SickKids Foundation in January 1998.

Mr. Watsa is currently Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Fairfax Financial Holdings Ltd., a financial services holding company. The company, through its subsidiaries, is engaged in property, casualty insurance and reinsurance, as well as investment management. Mr. Watsa was recognized as CEO of the Year by Report on Business Magazine in December 2008.

Mr. Watsa holds a Bachelor of Technology in Chemical Engineering and a Masters of Business Administration from the Richard Ivey School of Business.

Mr. Watsa is a member of the Advisory Board for the Richard Ivey School of Business and the Royal Ontario Museum Foundation Board of Directors as well as Chairman of the Investment Committee of St. Paul’s Anglican Church.
