Frequently Asked Questions

Why does SickKids need to have a fundraising campaign?

We have a fundraising campaign because the costs for many of the things that make SickKids a world leader in children's health research and care are not covered by government funding. We rely on private donations to ensure that we are able to continue to attract the best staff in the world and provide the equipment they need to deliver breakthrough research and care.

SickKids is well known. Why are you conducting an advertising campaign?

SickKids Foundation is conducting a Public Education Program to help the public better understand how we serve children in the GTA and beyond. We hope that by sharing this information, we will inspire people to make a gift to SickKids so that we will be able to continue on with this important work.

What will the money raised through this campaign be used for?

Money raised through fundraising supports research, equipment and other programs that ensure SickKids remains a world leader in children’s health research and care.
