But, did you know that for the past six years, this event, which has raised over $1.5 million for SickKids, has been organized and executed by a fabulous female force? That’s right, motivated by their belief that every child deserves to be healthy, every year 19 wonderful women roll up their sleeves and put on their dancing shoes to help raise funds for the Hospital’s highest priority needs. Dianne Armes-Redrupp, Kelly Barnicke, Nicole Bitove, Audrey DeZwirek, Romelia Dilawri, Selina Esteves, Molly Fitzpatrick, Lorraine Gibson, Willa Griffin, Jacqueline Johnson, Lucinda Kogan, Lori Latchman, Stephanie Lewis, Aviva MacKenzie, Judy Moore, Suzanne Rogers, Leigh Sorel Wortsman and Nicole Swales make up the 2010 Committee, which Committee Chair Sandra Keeley describes as an unstoppable force. “Our team of women is focused, dedicated, and committed to helping the Hospital,” Sandra Keeley explains. “It has been a privilege to work with them.” This year’s event entitled “Miami Heat Comes to London,” will take place at the popular This is London Nightclub and will feature the sounds of Hot South Beach DJ Joe Dert and Special Guest DJ George Stroumboulopoulos. The funds raised will enable the Hospital to complete the much-need Surgical Day Care Unit – a family-friendly pre- and post-operative space, specially designed to cut wait times and increase patient safety, comfort, and privacy. The improved space will ensure that the youngest, most vulnerable members of our community continue to receive the best care possible. No wonder such amazing women volunteer every year to help make Scrubs in the City such a roaring success. Buy your ticket today and meet the women of Scrubs on May 19th, 2010.
