On Wednesday, March 21, the Toronto research community is invited to a special symposium in honour of Dr. Lap-Chee Tsui.

Recently announced inductee to The Canadian Medical Hall of Fame, Dr. Lap-Chee Tsui, returns to SickKids on March 21 as guest of honour for this afternoon event. Introductory remarks by Mary Jo Haddad, SickKids President & CEO and presentations by leading experts Dr. Stephen Scherer, Senior Scientist, Genetics & Genome Biology, and Director of the Centre for Applied Genomics at SickKids, Dr. Eric Sorscher, Director of the Gregory Fleming James Cystic Fibrosis Centre at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and Dr. Johanna Rommens, Senior Scientist, Genetics & Genome Biology, SickKids. Dr. Tsui will also share his thoughts on what has been one of the most significant breakthroughs in human genetics in 50 years -- the discovery of the gene that causes cystic fibrosis.
