Build a Legacy - Give Legacy Gifts

You change lives for generations to come by planning a gift to SickKids

Children are 25 per cent of our population, but are 100 per cent of our future. Through a planned gift to SickKids, you can leave your own mark on the world by ensuring that every child has the best chance for a healthy future.

Your legacy can take many forms:

  • Bequests: Make a gift to SickKids through your Will
  • RRSP/RRIF Funds: Make a gift to SickKids by changing the beneficiary information on your RRSP or RRIF
  • Life Insurance: Use an unneeded policy or create a new policy to make a donation
  • Appreciated Securities: Donate appreciated stocks, bonds, mutual funds, flow through shares or stock options and take advantage of the best tax benefits
  • Donor Advised Funds: Support multiple charities and avoid the complications of a private foundation
  • Charitable Gift Annuities: A charitable gift annuity allows you to make a gift to support SickKids Foundation today while assuring you fixed income for life
  • Property: Make a substantial gift to SickKids through a transfer of residential, commercial, or undeveloped real estate or a gift of jewelry or art
  • Charitable Remainder Trusts (CRT): A life income gift that enables you to give today (with immediate tax savings) while retaining use of the asset
  • Endowments: A charitable investment fund, where a donation is permanently invested and the income supports SickKids each year
