Ways We Fundraise

SickKids Canvasser

SickKids Foundation raises critical funds for The Hospital for Sick Children in a variety of ways.

In addition to the events, miracle club, tribute/legacy programs and giving societies detailed on this web site, here are a few of the other unique ways we reach out to donors in our community.

Direct Dialogue

Over the last five years, Public Outreach has led a face-to-face fundraising campaign for SickKids Foundation. Public Outreach engages in honest, respectful and effective fundraising to ensure the best possible results for their clients, and the most enjoyable work experience for their employees. Accordingly, they are completely non-commission-based and offer a competitive entry-level wage.

SickKids Door to Door

Door to Door

The Door to Door program is designed to gain support from our community. It is a respectful face to face interaction seeking out donors who are committed to making long-term monthly pledges. TNI The Network Inc., Canada’s leader in face-to-face fundraising, is raising much needed dollars for the highest priority needs of the hospital. Their canvassers are fully trained on all aspects of SickKids and are non-commissioned representatives.

DRTV

Direct Response Television (DRTV) is a way we can reach out to a large volume of potential donors in a short time period of time.  SickKids Foundation produces various length television programs that are featured on many television stations both locally and nationally. The programs allow viewers to get up close and personal with the kids, families, researchers and physicians at SickKids together with the opportunity to give a one-time gift or join the miracle club.  We use partners to help in the production of these programs and to handle our call volume.

For more information on DRTV, please contact Tanya Tucker, Assistant Manager - Donor Acquisition at 416.813.7651 or via e-mail tanya.tucker@sickkidsfoundation.com.

SickKids Radiothon

The SickKids Radiothon is part of Astral Media’s National Day of Caring for Kids, an initiative run in partnership with Children’s Miracle Network to raise awareness and funds for paediatric health care. The SickKids Radiothon broadcasts live from the Atrium at SickKids for 12 hours on Astral Radio Stations Virgin 99.9, NEWSTALK 1010, and boom 97.3.

Patients and families share their compelling stories with Astral Media listeners, illustrating the critical importance of the work going on at SickKids. This fundraising event brings the stories of SickKids families and staff into homes throughout the GTA, resulting in pledges from listeners to raise funds for the Hospital's highest priority needs, including ground-breaking research, vital new technology, and important revitalization projects.

Herbie Fund

Herbie Fund

Herbie Fund is a volunteer based fundraising group that has been raising money for the Herbie Fund for over 25 years at The Hospital for Sick Children.

The group is dedicated to bringing children, who are in need of life-saving or life-altering surgeries from all parts of the world to SickKids for medical treatment.
