The Starlight Children's Foundation
The Starlight Children's Foundation helps transform the lives of seriously ill children and their families through imaginative programs that lift spirits and help alleviate the pain and fear of prolonged illness. Each year, the Starlight Children's Foundation provides support to The Hospital for Sick Children through many initiatives including emergency admit kits, the Starlight Room, donations of arts, crafts, games and mobile entertainment units and Starlight Fun Centers.
This year Starlight is embarking on renovating the outdoor space on the 9th floor where the Starlight Room is located. The Starlight Room is a playroom specifically for children with cancer. Till this year the outdoor space outside the Starlight Room has been un-accessible for patients and families because of safety issues. This May Landscape Ontario in partnership with Starlight and other community partners will be renovating the outdoor space to make it patient and family friendly again. This will have a significant impact on the patients and their families because they can go outside to enjoy the sunshine during their treatments. Thank you to The Starlight Children's Foundation for its continued partnership and always supporting the needs of the patients.
