Meet Catherine

Catherine
Meet nine-year-old Catherine, an amazing girl who, in lieu of receiving birthday gifts this year, helped children at SickKids instead.
Dear SickKids,
I am Catherine. I am age 9. I have just turned 9 last week. On my invitations, I specially noted them to bring presents or money for SickKids Foundation. At my party my friends and I discovered that I had made a total of $230 for SickKids and 4 toys also.
I am donating all this to SickKids because I realize that the sick kids must need this more than I do. They must be suffering great pain sometimes. I hope that this shall cheer them up. Please tell them that I feel sorry for them to be in a hospital day and night. Please accept and appreciate my gift.
Your friend,
Catherine
Tribute gifts:
A donation like Catherine's is one of the most important gifts SickKids can be given. Her birthday money will directly contribute to the care patients at SickKids receive and help fund important Hospital programs. Catherine's gift will also support groundbreaking research at the Research Institute so our scientists can find cures and better treatments. Catherine and her friends should feel proud in knowing that by collecting money in lieu of gifts, they are helping sick children get better.
