Administration

** NEW YEAR END RECEIPTING GUIDELINES. ADMINISTRATORS, PLEASE READ!

Further to our Administrators Reception on March 16th, new year end receipting policies have been made effective. Notices regarding these new policies will be mailed to all Miracle Home Program administrators as further reminders to follow all new procedures accordingly.

Due to the strict regulations set out by Canada Customs Agency, we are no longer able to issue tax receipts for any donations that arrive at the Foundation after December 31st. Starting in 2004, no grace period will be given.

Please print out new quarter report cover sheets for Quarter 1 and 4. You will note changes in the reporting dates. Effective immediately, the 4th quarter cut off date will be December 15. Any donations relating to commissions earned from December 16 - 31 will be included in the first quarter of the following year.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Grace Lee, Director of Finance, SickKids Foundation: 416.813.7446 or grace.lee@sickkidsfoundation.com.

Cover Sheets

Cover sheets must be included with your cheques and lists. The information that is captured on these forms helps SickKids to credit your money properly. Offices submit money to SickKids each quarter (Jan-Mar, Apr-Jun, Jul-Sep, Oct-Dec). It is important to remember that the final quarter must be post-marked on or before December 31, to receive receipts for all money collected in the calendar year.

All quarter report cover sheets are stored as PDF format documents. You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader softwear installed to view this document. If you don't have this software, please visit the Adobe web site.

Quarter 1
January - March
Quarter 2
April - June
Quarter 3
July - September

Cheque Submission

It is important that all cheques that are submitted to SickKids include the list of agents who are to be receipted.

PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT CHEQUES WITHOUT AN ACCOMPANYING LIST!

If the cheque is not money raised through the Miracle Home Program, it is important to clearly state how the funds were raised and, if applicable, who is to be receipted (see receipting guidelines for eligibility).

All cheques should be made payable to The Hospital for Sick Children Foundation.

New to The Miracle Home Program:

Year end receipting is an alternative to receiving receipts each time money is submitted. When an agent receives their year end receipt it will have their cumulative total for that calendar year. This will be sent to the RE/MAX office early in the new year. Year end receipting reduces the number of receipts you need to keep track of, and costs to SickKids.

RECEIPTING GUIDELINES

The Foundation can issue tax receipts only to those individuals or organizations that make a donation without receiving any product or tangible item in return. Purchases of raffle tickets, admission tickets, green fees and auction items are NOT eligible for a tax receipt.

To streamline the Miracle Home Program all inquiries regarding:
  • Receipting
  • Event promotion materials (SickKids Foundation Only)
  • Remax Website
will be directed to Dee Diaz, Corporate Partnerships, SickKids Foundation, 416.813.7175.

As always, Corporate Partnerships, SickKids Foundation, is available for questions or concerns, booking tours at the Hospital or presentations at your RE/MAX office to discuss Children's Miracle Network.

Thank you for all that you do for the children and families that benefit from the services and research at SickKids. We hope streamlining the program will enable us to meet all of needs to the best of our ability.
