COVID-19 Preparedness at SickKids

Considering coming to SickKids? Please visit the SickKids COVID-19 info page for the latest updates before coming to the hospital. Visitor restrictions are in effect.

Dear Friends,

SickKids Foundation values your continued support and dedication to ensuring The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) provides the best care possible for children and their families.

It goes without saying that we have all been closely monitoring the developments related to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) situation. Health and safety for all is, of course, the top priority and we want to ensure our patients, families, staff, donors and community are protected during this time of heightened respiratory illness.

We would like to share with you a few updates:

SickKids continues to take precautions and implement required changes during this time. These include visitor restrictions and reductions in clinical activities that are not considered urgent at this time. Please avoid coming to SickKids if your presence is not essential to the care of a patient who is currently at the hospital. For the latest updates on these protocols and procedures, please stay tuned to the hospital’s dedicated web page sickkids.ca/coronavirus and Twitter account https://twitter.com/sickkidsnews

SickKids Foundation staff are working remotely; our team members are available through their regular email addresses. At this time, we have arranged for key business services to continue. As always, if you have a general question, please contact donor.inquiries@sickkidsfoundation.com. While you can appreciate that response times may be slower, we will get back to you as soon as we can.

All SickKids Foundation events that were planned for March and April are being rescheduled in alignment with Public Health Ontario recommendations for social distancing. If you were planning on making a donation through one of the postponed events, your support is still needed; please consider doing so online at sickkidsfoundation.com

We will continue to closely monitor the situation and the advice of public health officials. As such, we may take further decisions around the extent of activities in the future. We will keep you posted on our website and social media channels.

SickKids Foundation values your continued support and dedication.

Although this continues to be a rapidly evolving situation, I want to reiterate that, like SickKids, all of us at SickKids Foundation will continue to do whatever we can to ensure everyone’s well-being and safety.

I’d also like to recognize the tremendous work of the hospital’s clinical teams, staff and leadership.

Thank you for your continued commitment and ongoing support during these extraordinary circumstances.

Ted Garrard
