MARKY'S STORY

Marky was diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia and underwent CAR-T cell therapy at SickKids: a ground-breaking treatment that harnessed his own cells to fight his cancer. Thanks to SickKids research and care, today Marky is doing well.

Simon’s parents worried about the challenges their son would face because of his serious food allergies. But thanks to a supervised allergy study at SickKids, Simon can now tolerate minor exposures. To his family, this means freedom.

CHITRA’S STORY

At eight months old, Chitra had a complex tumour in her skull. Using 3D printing, SickKids created a model of her skull base and tumour, allowing doctors to precisely plan surgery to remove the entire tumour. Today, Chitra is healthy and well.

ATLEY'S STORY

For Atley, precision healthcare meant using genome sequencing to diagnose a potentially deadly heart condition, Brugada syndrome. Now, doctors can monitor Atley before any serious issues occur – and today, he’s doing well.
