Marcus Bruno Gibbons Endowment Fund
The Marcus Bruno Gibbons Endowment Fund was established in honour Marcus Gibbons to fund Sarcoma Education and Research at the Hospital for Sick Children. Since 2023, two lectures have taken place to educate in Sarcoma Treatment and Research, which is an aggressive form of cancer. Two world-renowned experts have been brought to SickKids to share their work with staff from SickKids, and beyond, and to create an opportunity for knowledge sharing between institutions. We are very grateful to the family of Marcus Bruno Gibbons for creating this legacy for their son, brother and grandson, and for the important education they are facilitating with this generous donation.
Scrubs in the City
The energy was electric and the party was popping as local philanthropists, corporate partners, fashionistas and SickKids supporters gathered at Evergreen Brick Works for Holt Renfrew presents Scrubs in the City Mexico City in collaboration with Mantella Corporation on June 6, 2024.
More than 1,400 guests dressed to the colourful nines came together for a night of exhilarating entertainment and mouthwatering food – all inspired by a Mexican fiesta. We are proud to share that Scrubs Mexico City raised an incredible $1.4 million in support of essential equipment upgrades at SickKids. These upgrades will help our neurophysiology and neurodiagnostic labs keep pace with technological innovation in their treatment of conditions like tumours, epilepsy and stroke. This means faster diagnoses, newer treatments, more precise surgeries — and ultimately brighter futures for children.
Thank you to our incredibly generous volunteer committee, sponsors, donors, guests and volunteers who joined us to make it a successful evening.
To date, Scrubs supporters have helped contribute over $11 million to various priority areas of the hospital.
