Hats Off 2 Kidz
Deborah Bianchi is a childhood leukemia survivor. She was diagnosed with ALL when she was 10 1/2 years old and underwent three years of treatment before her successful remission. Deborah founded Hats Off 2 Kidz™ as her way of giving back to SickKids for saving her life.
Over the past 13 years Hats Off 2 Kidz™, with a community of supporters, has raised in excess of $1.6 million in support of Leukemia Research at SickKids.
Hats Off 2 Kidz™ has become her trademark for all little kids who have endured many long nights of chemotherapy, losing their hair and having to wear hats or head covers so they can feel better about themselves. This is Deborah's way of saying it's okay to take your hat off and show the world that you made it!
Through galas, spin-a-thons, golf tournaments and pub nights, Deborah and her incredible committee of family and friends have continued to devote their time and talents to make a difference in the lives of kids and their families.
We Believe in Abby Family Day
We Believe in Abby Family Day is a community event organized by Becky and Craig, Abby’s parents, and a committee of volunteers. In just three short years, We Believe in Abby Family Day has raised over $40,000 for the Labatt Family Heart Centre.
Abby, the inspiration behind it all, was born with a rare congenital heart defect and is treated at SickKids. Congenital Heart Defects are the most common birth defect with one in 100 Canadian children born with it. More than half of these children will require open heart surgery to survive, like Abby. As a way to give back to the community and provide other families with the gift of time together, Becky and Craig founded We Believe in Abby Family Day.
We would like to celebrate and thank Becky, Craig and the entire We Believe in Abby Family Day committee for all of their hard work, support and ongoing fundraising efforts for SickKids.
