Donor Spotlight | Week of January 16
Mawer is an independent investment management firm founded in 1974 that manages assets for a wide range of institutional and individual investors by following our Be Boring. Make Money.TM investment approach.
Our founder Charles Mawer had a single mantra—“do the right thing”—for clients, employees, and the community. We have always believed in investing in the well-being of society by contributing meaningfully to our communities.
We agree that fighting for the health and wellbeing of children is one of the most powerful ways to improve society and are delighted to sponsor the SickKids Scrubs in the City event series to help raise funds for a first in Canada Cellular Therapy Facility and help contribute to the tremendous work SickKids is doing to improve and advance child health.
This week we are honoured to acknowledge The Toor Family and supporters of Devraj’s Legacy as our Donor of the Week.
Devraj Singh Toor was born on January 21, 2021, to his parents, Mandeep and Inder and older brother Sarvin. Shortly after birth, Devraj was diagnosed with a rare genetic disease Generalized Arterial Calcification of Infancy (GACI), which unfortunately has no cure. Devraj passed away in the arms of his family on March 15, 2021.
In Devraj’s memory his family has now created The Devraj Singh Toor Endowment Fund, which is worth over $50,000 thanks to the generosity of the Toor family and their community of supporters.
We would like to send our heartfelt gratitude to Mandeep, Inder and Sarvin, along with their family, friends, and community for their support towards SickKids in honour of Devraj.
