Marriott associates raise funds to make a difference
This month, we would like to take the opportunity to celebrate and thank Marriott Hotels & Resorts Canada for supporting SickKids through their partnership with Children’s Miracle Network (CMN). For almost 30 years, Marriott associates have been enthusiastically supporting SickKids, raising an incredible $1.8 million to date!
Today, we would like to introduce you to five Marriott associates who are taking on leadership roles within their respective Marriott Hotels and Resorts locations and raising funds that will help to make a positive impact on children’s health.
Paulina Fernandes – Events Manager at Courtyard Marriott Downtown Toronto
Paulina is the Chair of the Children’s Miracle Network Committee at the Courtyard Marriott Downtown Toronto and has championed numerous fundraising initiatives in support of SickKids. In 2015, Paulina led the committee in an impressive 42 initiatives, with the largest being a beach volleyball tournament which generated over $3,300 in donations. Paulina leads or advises on every initiative with fresh ideas and a consistent dedication to CMN and SickKids. She is well underway in planning the 2016 campaign with Jeans Days, 50/50 draws, bake sales, quarterly front desk incentive contests and a volleyball tournament already in the calendar.
Claire Evans – Human Resources at JW Marriott The Rosseau Muskoka Resort & Spa
Claire is committed to raising funds in support of CMN and SickKids, a value her colleagues truly appreciate. Claire was instrumental in the preparation and execution of the 2015 Rock for Kids golf tournament, an annual event hosted by the Resort. Her hard work and dedication helped to make 2015 the most successful fundraising year for JW Marriott, which raised over $70,000 in support of SickKids. Claire’s already proving to be an asset as she helps to plan this year’s tournament (September 22, 2016).

Lory Vincenzi – Senior Area Sales Manager at Courtyard Toronto Airport
Lory is a true champion for SickKids and has an amazing ability to rally her coworkers to help support the cause. According to James Wu, Area Director of Sales and Marketing, “Lory is the driving force behind organizing the Courtyard Toronto Airport team in raising funds for SickKids. Whether it is a bake sale, a 50/50 draw at staff events or helping organize other fundraising drives, Lory has been instrumental in ensuring team participation, education and ongoing support for SickKids.”
Lolita Wong and Montana Calver – Toronto Marriott Downtown Eaton Centre
Lolita and Montana show their support of CMN and SickKids through the organization of fundraising initiatives at the Toronto Marriott Downtown Eaton Centre.
Lolita is co-chair of the 2016 GTA Children’s Miracle Network Golf Tournament (May 19, 2016) and is determined to make this year’s event a great success. Lolita has high respect from her colleagues, and because of this, they are working extremely hard to help her set a new record for fundraising results in 2016.
Montana is a spirited and high energy individual who is making a difference through her creativity. She has been instrumental in the creation of the Valentine’s Day Employee Bake Sale and assists in the coordination of monthly CMN Jeans Days.
