Yes, as a SickKids monthly donor, you will receive a welcome package in the mail and exclusive updates featuring behind the scenes videos on the impact of your gift.
You will also receive ongoing updates on the ground-breaking innovations your monthly gifts support.
SickKids fundraisers will always be wearing a SickKids-branded lanyard with an ID tag around their neck for easy identification.
You’ll see them carry a SickKids-branded tablet bag and wear a SickKids shirt, jacket or vest. During the winter, they may also wear a SickKids toque and branded gloves.
All monthly donor information will be captured on their tablet and they will never accept or ask for cash donations.
While speaking with donors, fundraisers have been trained to follow all public health guidelines including:
- Keeping a safe 2 metre distance while talking to people
- Wearing a face mask for safety, using hand sanitizers and disinfecting wipes to clean all items they touch
- Ensuring the entire process is touchless - your welcome package will now be mailed to you
- Canvassers who are fundraising in green, yellow and orange zones also reside in those communities

Our canvassers are equipped with PCI compliant, iPhone 4 handheld devices. It captures credit card information through a secure browser over a Virtual Private Network. The information is not stored on the device nor is it shared with anyone. It’s a safe and accurate way to acquire credit card information necessary for processing donations, and reduces administrative costs and human error.

No, SickKids does not participate in street fundraising. Many other charities raise money through street fundraising. SickKids, however, is not one of them.
Yes. You will receive a tax receipt for one-time donations of $20 or more. Tax receipts for monthly donations are mailed in February.
Unfortunately SickKids turtles are not for sale. SickKids turtles are only given to patients at the Hospital.
New donors are mailed a Welcome Package and should receive it within two weeks. Any donation that involves a minimum of $30/month, allows SickKids to give a turtle to a child at the Hospital. If you provide your email, you will receive a confirmation email, updates on how your donation is helping, and our e-newsletters throughout the year.
SickKids is located in 2-3 malls each week across the GTA and Golden Horseshoe area. We also fundraise at Toronto events throughout the year, and some private sites.

SickKids utilizes the expertise of a third party to help us reach our fundraising goals. We have been partnered with Globalfaces since 2015.
Business-to-Business fundraisers visit businesses Monday to Friday between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.
An email on SickKids letterhead is sent to the local police departments prior to our fundraisers visiting your neighbourhood.
Our overall Foundation cost per dollar is 28 per cent, which includes the Business-to-Business fundraising program. You can find more information in our annual report and financial statements. SickKids Foundation encourages transparency and accountability.
